Paolo Ciccarelli is Head of Unit “Sustainable Transport and Urban Development” at DG INTPA. He is an Architect who has specialised in development cooperation in the private and public sectors, and has more than 35 years of experience in managing a broad range of infrastructure projects in Europe and Africa. He has the experience of living and working in Somalia, and in EU Delegations in Nigeria, Uganda and Zambia, and over 25 years of experience working with the European Commission.
