Morgan Babbs is the Chief Innovation Officer at iluméxico, a Mexican solar service provider for off-grid and grid poor households. During her tenure at iluméxico, Morgan has co-led the company’s international expansion strategy, having launched two sister companies: Soluna Energía in Colombia and Navajo Power Home in the Navajo Nation (United States). Currently, she serves as the Interim General Manager of the Colombian company Soluna Energía. Previously, Morgan led iluméxico’s prepay product development and in-country payment collections strategy, with a special focus on affordability for the low-income + informal economy market. The launch of the prepary product brought the company’s payment rate indicators up to 92%, nationwide. Prior to joining iluméxico, Morgan founded Colibri, a solar-service provider in Nicaragua. At the time, Colibrí was the first off-grid residential solar company in Latin America to integrate pay-as-you-go software. For her work at Colibrí, Morgan was recognized as a Clinton LEAD Fellow, and an Echoing Green Semifinalist. She graduated from Tufts University with a double major in Economics and International Relations. A guiding mantra in her career is that “the future is already here– it’s just not evenly distributed yet.”
