Karimi Gitonga is the Asia Regional Technical Advisor for Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation at Catholic Relief Services (CRS). He has worked with a variety of INGOs across Asia and Africa and extensively on DRR, CCA and resilience programming with IDP, refugee, and host communities in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Somalia, and South Sudan. He currently supports CRS programs across the Asia-Pacific region, focusing on working with local stakeholders, partners, and governments and including the integration of DRR and CCA in CRS Asia signature programmes on Homes & Communities. Karimi holds a Masters in Environment and Sustainable Development from University College London (UK).
